    1. INTRODUCTION TO THE DEPARTMENT
      • The Department of Community Health Nursing to provide in depth knowledge in community health nursing concepts, philosophy, principles and practice.<\/li>
      • The Department functions with the belief that every patient coming to a health care institution belongs to a family and community and hence considers holistic care are of utmost importance.<\/li><\/ul><\/li>
      • PHILOSOPHY<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol>

        Department of community health nursing believe, accept and recognize in:-<\/p>

            • The essential dignity and worth of the individual.<\/li>
            • The possession by individual of potentialities and resources for managing their own lives.<\/li>
            • The importance of freedom to express one\u2019s individuality.<\/li>
            • The great capacity for growth within all social beings.<\/li>
            • The right of the individual to basic necessities ( food, shelter, medical care) without which fulfillment of life is often blocked.<\/li>
            • The need for individuals to struggle and strive to improve their life and environment.<\/li>
            • The right of the individual to help in times of need and crisis.<\/li><\/ul><\/li>

                  • Gain in depth knowledge in community health nursing concepts, philosophy, principle and practice.<\/li>
                  • Realize the importance and techniques of epidemiological approaches for solving community health problems<\/li>
                  • Develop skills in community health assessment<\/li>
                  • Develop skills in identifying health needs of the individuals, family and community and demonstrate skill in providing comprehensive family health care using available resources.<\/li>
                  • Demonstrate skill in programme planning, implementation and evaluation<\/li>
                  • Develop ability to function as a member of the community health team and initiate positive change in health care system.<\/li>
                  • Integrate aspects of promotion of health and prevention of illness in community.<\/li>
                  • Develop a culture of evidence-based practice.<\/li>
                  • Acquire an understanding of quality assurance and standardization of care<\/li>
